Need a vacation? Ready to hang out with some goblins? It’s time to explore…Pinchwhistle Point.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a Horde only area. The Pinchwhistle goblins will take help from anyone offering it.
They offer pretty worthwhile rewards for that help, if you follow the quest line to the end.
If you have been following the Spires of Arak main quest line, you should get an invite to head down to Pinchwhistle Point, or you can head down yourself at about level 97.
Here, you will find a group of goblins dealing with some pesky fungus, and in need of some heroics.
With the Arak garrison outpost experience bonus, and the usual setup of leveling gear and experience potions, you should get at least a level from the full set.
There are also a number of rare monsters, and bonus objective areas nearby, that will be a great boost to your leveling.
You will also be rewarded with the Scrapyard blueprints for your garrison, something that will produce some useful scrap from garrison missions, especially if you upgrade it to level 3.
Don’t leave too quickly though, because you will also be offered a new garrison follower once the quest line is complete.
This follower will start at level 97, which will be rather useful. It is also an engineer, which will be useful if you happen to have the engineering craft shop.
On top of all the useful perks, the quest line is interesting, and a quick finish especially if you have flight. You did get flight, right?

If you are into the art of collecting, why not use your Alt Army for…pet collecting.
While your inventory of battle pets might be account wide, you can use every last one of your alts to gather them.
For your max level alts, you can find pets in just about every raid, and usually at a better drop rate than mounts.
If you want less of a time investment, you can also find them in some dungeons.
That lovely garrison of yours can also drop pets in missions, and you’ll even find them in the shipyard.
In all of these cases, the more alts you have, the more chances you have to make them drop.
You will also find a number of ways to get pets during the various holiday events through the year.
Having your alts gather holiday currency can be quite effective, and for random drop pets, each alt will get its own chance.
And, even if it is best to pick one of your alts as your main pet battler, you can still use your Alt Army to gather all of them.
Of course, I’ll be a bit busier doing my favorite type of collecting as I level every class and race. Gotta level them all.

Let’s dig deeper in the use of our Alt Army with… Mount collecting.
The World of Warcraft has mounts stashed all over its worlds, in just about every place you can think of.
As mentioned previously, an abundant source of mounts can be found in most raids, with varying success.
This can also be said of dungeons, which may be a bit easier to get into, and certainly faster.
If you pay attention to the meta raiding achievements, you will find quite a few mounts that are granted after gaining the right ones.
Having an army of alts means you can retry these instances over and over each day and week until the instance servers get tired of you.
Believe me, it does happen, as I have seen how quickly a full set of alts can get the fun ‘Too many instances’ message.
For those alts that have fully powered garrisons and well geared followers, they too will have chances at mounts from various missions; all the more reason to check them regularly.
But if all of this seems like too much work, you can get plenty of mounts with all the gold you’ve been earning with that Alt Army, as long as they aren’t gathering dust in the garrison.

Now that you have a growing alt army, let’s have some fun in…Old Raids.
WoW has a lot of fun old content in the form of raids, and those raids are full of goodies.
At level 100, any class can very easily run through just about every old raid so far, except those in Pandaria.
These old raids are chock full of all types of gear, which can be stored for later use in transmog.
If you save the gear that fits your class, you will be able to transmog with it, and in Legion, unlock that gear style for all characters of a similar gear type.
You can also pass around any non-bound gear to alts that can be used on their transmog, or even sell this gear on the auction house.
Many old raids also have a chance to drop mounts, and even battle pets, as you take out bosses one by one.
You will also find it is rather easy to earn special raid achievements that might be part of a meta achievement that grants titles or even more mounts.
In general, you will find you can gather a decent amount of gold during this process, provided you are looting everything you kill.
And don’t forget, once you finish with one alt, you have an entire army waiting to do it all again for fun and profit.

One of most useful skills in Draenor for alts to have is…Flight.
When you are on the march to build a large Alt Army, you tend look for ways to speed up the process.
Finding the experience boosts is great, finding the meatier chunks of experience is important, but you have to get there first.
While Blizzard originally complained that flight in Draenor would bypass a lot of the content, once you are on your third alts, you’ve seen it all.
One of the ways you know you’ve seen it all, is in the process of earning Draenor Pathfinder, the meta achievement for flight.
The achievements needed have you exploring the entire map, finding treasures, completing zone quest achievements, and running apexis dailies.
By the time you have completed these requirements, you’ve seen the content, and earned flight many times over.
Some of the more challenging parts of the meta occur in Tanann Jungle, grinding reputation with a new set of factions there.
If you haven’t already tackled this task, it is best done on whatever you consider your primary character, since earning it will go account wide.
Your future alts will thank you for the speed and convenience, and you’ll have an Alt Army to 100 in no time.

As you march on to level 100, there is another leveling friendly zone…Spires of Arak.
Available at level 96, this Arakkoa lore heavy zone is teeming with tasty experience, and experience boosts.
By the second or so time you have done the leveling grind, you likely don’t need the popular Smuggling Run garrison output.
The Home Away From Home outpost perk is a nice 20 percent boost to your experience, which will go a long way in this zone.
With this bonus, plus the garrison xp potion, and optionally the xp elixir, you will find yourself at level 100 in mere hours.
You can also find 5 treasures called the Offering of the Raven Mother, that will give you around 5 percent rested experience boost.
With a trip around the zone picking up the remaining treasures, and running a few of the larger quest lines, you likely won’t even notice the grind.
I highly recommend running through the Pinchwhistle goblin questline; not only because of the easy experience, but the Scrapyard blueprint and the follower at the end.
Between Arak, and Gorgrond, getting to level 100 can be a decently quick and fun trip.

The Draenor leveling experience has a little known early fast track zone….Gorgrond.
While it is very likely have leveled through this area, it is easy now to skip or quickly move through it as you race to 100.
There are however some rather beefy rare beasts that drop an XP filled quest item, something either a group or level 94 or higher solo player can handle.
8 in total, these quests can be saved up and turned in all at once, especially once you get your hands on an Accelerated Learning potion, or Rapid Mind elixir.
With the potion giving a 20 percent bonus, the elixir giving a huge 300 percent bonus, and a full set of heirloom leveling gear, you can level extremely fast.
With this setup and the 8 item quest turn in, it is pretty normal to get a full level worth of experience.
By preloading a number of the bonus events in the area as well, you can easily get another level in the process.
Gorgrond is an often overlooked area, full of meaty experience, and a standard part of my leveling experience.

One of the alt benefits for those more fashion conscious players is often overlooked….transmog.
Having multiple characters that can run raids and dungeons will let you get around those pesky lockouts.
For those with garrisoned alts, having the salvage yard leveled up will get you all manner of interesting gear that you can spread around.
With the upcoming Legion expansion, you will want to have at least one of each armor typed alt in your personal alt army.
This will ensure you are able to save transmog unlocks now by spreading the gear around, no matter what armor type it might be.
As we prepare for the coming expansion, it is time to expand our wardrobes with all the transmog goodies we can get our hands on.

For those that have more money than time to spend, we discuss…level boosts.
More and more MMOs are starting to include paid level boosts as a way of getting to new content, as the number of levels ever increases.
Warcraft in particular started this trend a while back by calling it the scroll of resurrection; a way for retired players to jump back into the game at level 80 and later at 85.
It was then revamped and turned into a way to boost any character to level 90, whether brand new or already established.
As of today, it has been upgraded to level 100, includes a full gear set, large bags, various flying licenses, and even a profession boost if the character was above 60.
While the ala-carte price of $60 is a bit steep for most, you do get a free boost when you purchase the next expansion, so everyone will get to try.
As eager as you may be to use this free boost, make sure you use it on a class you like, or you’ll suffer a bit of alt remorse.

If you are growing your own alt army, let me introduce you to the must have items…heirlooms.
Unless you are trying to savor the level grind, or love constantly changing out equipment, heirlooms are practically required for any serious altoholic.
Their primary focus is to grow with your character as they level to maximum, but certain pieces include a bonus.
You can get an heirloom piece for just about every slot on your character, but some come with an added experience bonus.
A full set of experience boosting heirlooms can really speed up the leveling process, having 5 or 10 percent in experience boosting power per item.
Heirlooms can be bought with gold, currency from expansions past, and even obtained from the dreaded garrison shipyard.
While quite pricey in gold to fully upgrade an heirloom piece to level 100, you can also obtain these upgrades from various dungeon currencies, and most active holiday currencies.
Heirlooms make an altoholic’s life far smoother in their leveling travels, and happen to have an iconic look as a bonus.
