Greetings Gamers. This is Mewkow, your guide in treating a common gamer condition called Altitis.

Curious about my favorite profession? It’s easily…Engineering.
Packed with the most fun items of any profession, Engineering is the go-to choice when I lack a compelling reason for any other profession.
For toy collectors, no other profession has the ability to craft as many toys, with the caveat that most require active Engineering on that alt.
For mount and pet collectors, Engineering rivals Leatherworking and Tailoring for the number of craftable mounts and pets.
Besides toys, mounts, and pets, Engineering also boasts a large selection of useful devices, both reusable and consumable.
Looking for raid beneficial items? Engineering can craft repair devices, food processors, mailboxes, and even merchant and bank access for fellow engineers.
The belt mounted Nitro Boosts are a handy extra mobility option, and the cloak attachable Goblin Glider and Parachute give you a way out of a plummeting death.
You can also craft a number of teleportation devices for your Engineering alts, and a large selection of goggles and guns.
And if all of this wasn’t enough, there are countless more fun and weird devices, some with a Goblin or Gnomish flare to choose from.
Who wouldn’t enjoy swapblasting a friend to their doom, while ‘hopefully’ bringing them back to life with a set of goblin jumper cables?

Greetings Gamers. This is Mewkow, your guide in treating a common gamer condition called Altitis.

Before even the nuts and bolts can be crafted, we need to…gather.
Unless you are the wealthy type, all crafting professions need some source of materials to build with.
You have a choice of Mining, Herbalism, and Skinning to feed most of the hungry main crafting professions.
Engineers, Blacksmiths, and Jewelcrafters are the primary clients of miners.
Alchemy, and Inscription need herbs and lots of them, leaving Tailoring and Enchanting to fend for themselves alone.
And of course Leatherworking needs the leather from Skinning the beasts you come across.
All crafting professions have an occasional need of unaligned materials, but not enough to be a real focus.
Any of the gathering professions can also be used to simply make money off of what you find by putting it up on the auction house.
With a little bit of added experience gained from mining and herbalism nodes, it’s not a bad idea to focus on these as you level a new alt.
And of course, any alt wouldn’t mind being a bit wealthier if you decide to ‘dual wield’ your gathering.
