Greetings Gamers. This is Mewkow, your guide in treating a common gamer condition called Altitis.
Altoholics rejoice, Blizzard has given us…level scaling.
First, the good; All zones scale to their expansion’s max level, allowing you to stay where you want and finish out quest lines instead of being rushed along.
Original Azeroth zones scale to 60. Leveling zones scale from 1 to 10 however, and previously high level zones start their scaling from their old initial levels.
Burning Crusade and Wrath zones scale from 60 to 80, again starting at their pre patch initial levels.
Cataclysm and Pandaria continue this pattern from 80 to 90.
Draenor required no changes and scales from 90 to 100, and of course Legion will finish us off 100 to 110.
And then the ‘bad’; Heirloom gear isn’t quite as good stat-wise post-patch, but still gives the same experience boost.
Also, your targets will likely have a bit more health to deal with, especially for those that run old raids for transmog gear.
While many consider it a nerf, I see it as a chance to fully enjoy the leveling experience.
As the Pandaren say: Slow down. Leveling is to be savored.
